Imagine a School Where…

At the end of the course you have effective, compassionate tools for helping others.

The Phillips School of Massage offers a comprehensive course in massage therapy and is recognized throughout the United States for excellence in holistic education.

We have a variety of program levels from which to choose to meet the educational requirements for different states, varying in length from 230 to 600 hours. We also have an extensive continuing education program including evening and weekend workshops and one to three-week intensives in a variety of bodywork modalities.

Learning is primarily hands-on and experiential. Instruction encompasses Eastern and Western bodywork modalities including elements of:

Anatomy, physiology and nutrition are explored from both Eastern and Western perspectives. Body dynamics, postural awareness and business practices complete the training.

Students, teachers and staff together create a nurturing, supportive environment for learning, personal unfoldment and healing. The student-teacher ratio is generally one instructor or student assistant for every two to eight students, with regular one-on-one practice and feedback. As graduates of the Level I Professional training, student assistants share their experience and support with Level I students while deepening their own understanding of the work.

Our community outreach program offers students valuable exposure to different settings and population groups including working with the elderly in a convalescent hospital, sports massage with a local high school team or athletic club and working with caregivers at the hospital oncology clinic. Level II students work with Veterans and oncology outpatients, as well as other massage therapists throughout the greater community.

Our facilities are light and spacious with beauty and harmony in mind. The student store carries all recommended and suggested books and tapes along with sheets, oils, lotions and a variety of other bodywork tools. We also have a growing library of books available for student use.

Many of our graduates go directly into rewarding careers working in chiropractic offices, health clubs, physical therapy centers, massage collectives or private practice.
